If I've got it counted right, $228.55 has come in! That's real nutty to me.... incredible start. You folks are generous! Only 1271.45 remaining people need to give a buck... no problem!
I spent a good deal of Saturday "dropping" slips of paper with the weblink around Green Lake Park yesterday. As best I can tell, none of the donations thus far have resulted from my intentional littering, but I dare to remain optimistic.
One of my housemates also presented me with the $100 Challenge: If I can get $100 from different people in person by asking for $1 donations in a single day, he will match $50 of it!
Tomorrow I plan on "accidentally" leaving the blog address slips of paper on the bus when I get off. I also plan to tape a sign to my backpack.
Keep spreading the word!
PS. A great friend proposed a great idea auctioning off my old neglected Jeep. It's called a Dutch Auction. More on that to come later.

Hey Zach,
Have you ever heard of egging? You buy a couple dozen eggs, make a sign telling people what you need the money for, go to a public place (sporting events, concerts) and say with a $2 donation, people get to crack an egg on your head. My friends once raised $300 in an hour.
I'll put it on the list. Knowing Seattle, we may get stoned for wasting the food before we get enough money to make it worth it though...
